I had the day off work today, and finished up school work early, so I decided to get in the car and just explore around town – something I admit I haven’t done enough of since moving to Midland.

I drove over to Odessa without knowing exactly I wanted to do, and was happy to stumble upon an art museum that I’d never heard of before! It’s called the Ellen Noel Art Museum, and there were only 3 exhibits – but the admission was free, and it was the perfect way to spend the afternoon. :)
I saw a couple of painting and photography exhibits, which were really interesting. I especially enjoyed an Art Nouveau glass art exhibit they had on display. There they had a couple books that talked about the Art Nouveau movement, and I was so happy when I opened them up and found examples of architecture from Barcelona, which I saw in person a couple of years ago with my Mom and Dad. :)
After that I headed back to Midland and stopped by a local nursery down the street to see if they had any new plants for spring. It was kind of a blustery day, so it was nice to go and visit a warm greenhouse. :) The light was just gorgeous so I took a couple of pictures of the plants.
And, last up, around the house – I made a Valentine cheesecake for my Valentine, Jose. Although he’s been sick with a stomach bug since Sunday, so he hasn’t been able to enjoy it (as much as I have!). :/ (Love you Jose).
And then there’s one of the puppies, watching guard over the house. They just finished up the last of their dog-training classes this morning, so they’ve been exhausted just taking in all the info they learned these past couple of weeks. :P
Thanks for stopping by! Hope ya’ll have a lovely rest of the week. :)

Love your blog, Amanda and love hearing what you’re up to! Wish I had your love of cooking,ha! The cheesecake looks delicious. Hope the puppies retain what they learned,ha!
Thanks Aunt Eva! Now… I don’t know if I’d consider it a LOVE of cooking.. that was the easiest cheesecake recipe! And it was my first ever to make.. it’ll probably be another 3 years before I make it again, hahaha.
I hope the puppies remember what they learned, too!! :/ I think the trainer was really just training Jose and me how to keep them under control, and I know I’ve been reviewing my notes each day!! They’re not too bad, they just have waaaay too much energy. Well – you raised a house full of boys, so I’m sure you can relate, hehehe.
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I’m glad we’re able to keep up here, too. xoxo
